Denmark aids Ben Tre in a pilot program of environmental development

Ben Tre has become one of six provinces in the country chosen to carry out the "Cooperation program for Environmental development". The program is funded from a non-returned aid by the Dennish Government through the Dennish International Development Agency (DANIDA). This is the largest environmental aid by the Dennish Government to Vietnam in a 5-year term (2006-2010), worth totally US$39.7 million. The program includes works to monitor the environment pollution in residential areas; to develop sustainable environmental development in urban slum areas; to build sustainable living environment in seaside areas; and  to assist plan making and environment monitoring.

The implementation of the pilot program in Ben Tre was set to start in the 2nd Quarter of 2006.
