Three companies gone into operation in the Giao Long IP

Three out of six investing companies
(with total investment cap of US$24 million) in the Giao Long Industrial Park have just gone into
operation. They are named as the Yung Nam Garment Joint-Stock Company, the
textile-maker Dan Duy Viet Nam Limited Company, and the desiccated coconut-meat
producer Dinh Phu My Limited Company.

Of the above three companies, Yung
Nam, which has just gone into operation for one month, has declared its
increase of investment cap from US$1.5 million to US$1.7 million, and its legal
capital from VND8 billion to VND10 billion. In April, Yung Nam made 104,940 pieces of products
worth approximately US$38,255.00, according to the company's report. Its total
export value was reported at US$20,009.59. The company currently employs 545
workers, and the average salary is VND850,000 per worker per month.

The other two companies are still
under testing production stage.

According to Mr Nguyen Truc Son,
Director of the Investment Promotion Center of Ben Tre (IPC Ben Tre), 9
companies have signed with the provincial authorities a commitment to invest in
the Giao Long IP. In the coming time, these companies are planning to lease 39
hectares of space area in the IP, which will add the total leased land up to 65
hectares, or 80% of the total land area of IP.
