Many ODA projects launched in Ben Tre in first 5 months of year

So far this year, several big projects in various areas with a total of more than US$1.5 million of official development aid (ODA) fundings have been launched in Ben Tre Province.
Along with the projects that had been transferred into from the 2006 budget plan, including those of rural transportation, clean water supply and environmental sanitary, community healthcare, and rural development, the Province focused on the Third-phase Project to build clean water factories for rural areas funded by World Bank loans, and the work of designing the breakwater system in Ba Tri District.
Besides, many newly approved projects have also been in the field surveillance and deployment period, including the Project to Increase the chances of market accessing for poor people, sponsored by the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD); the Project of Environmental protection in densely populated and poor residential areas funded by the DANIDA, a Dennish Government's international aid organization; the program to support for aquacultural development sponsored by the Dennish Government; a WB-funded project of medical support for the Mekong Delta region; a project of contagious diseases fighting in the Mekong Subregion funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
Generally speaking, the ODA projects deployed in the first 5 months of the year have so far signaled optimism for the Province's social and economic development in the year of 2007.
