237 Wheelchairs given to poor disabled in Ben Tre
Answering an appeal by Ben Tre's societies and campaigners for poor disabled in the province, on August 16, 2007, the Christina Noble Children's Foundation has come the Department of Labour, Invalid and Social Affairs' Center for Employment Introduction to donate 237 wheelchairs to disabled who are living in a very hard life. The wheelchairs are siad to be sponsored by the non-government organization Veolia Environment.
In the past years, the Christina Children Foundation is said to sponsor many special projects for poor people in Ben Tre, especially those to build schools, healthcare facilities for poor and remote communes. Besides, the foundation also sponsored scholarship for students of poor families with total fundings amounting to more than VND6 billion
