More Ben Tre workers going to work in Japan and South Korea

In the first half of this year, there were 514 workers enrolling to work abroad, and 281 of them were confirmed, according to labour authorities. As usual, the most crowded receiving countries are Japan (with 126 workers) and South Korea (with 101 workers). Next on the list is Malaysia and Taiwan, respectively. Workers in Ben Tre as well as the Mekong Delta provinces in general are not so interested in working in the Middle Eastern countries, though the salary level there is the same as that in South Korea.

Ben Tre is reported to encourage its workers to go to work in Malaysia because registration expenses are low, so it is suitable to the province’s poverty erasion program.
