First ship equipment factory to be set up in Giao Long IP

On December 5, 2008, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province handed out a new investment certificate to Vastalux-Anpha Company Limited, a joint-venture between the Malaysia-based Vastalux SDN BHD and the Ho Chi Minh City-based Anpha Production, Services and Trading co., Ltd. The joint-ventured investment will invest in the first ever project to build a mechanical factory in the Giao Long Industrial Park. The 17.8-million-dollar project will be sitting on a six-hectare space area. It will be working in 50 years from the date of licencing.

Mr Azman Bin Abd Ghafar, the company CEO said that it would promptly start off the construction work so that the factory may go into operation in July next year. The main products of the factory are hold lids for cargo ships and other steel products. The total capacity of the factory is set at 15,000 tonnes per year, and is to comply to environment protection rules.

On the occasion, the joint-venture donated VND50 million to the non-profit Society to Sponsor Poor Patients and Disabled People of Ben Tre province.
