Ham Luong Bridge conjoined

At 7:00pm on November 22, 2009, the Bridge Construction No 2 Corporation, one of the main contractors working on the Ham Luong Bridge construction site, held the ceremony to conjoin the middle span of the birdge. According to Mr Le Manh Hung, Chief Supervisor for the Ham Luong Bridge construction, about 90% of construction volume has been done. And the bridge is planned to be technically opened on the 50th anniversary of Ben Tre Dong Khoi on January 17, 2010.

The Ham Luong Bridge project was kicked start almost two years ago, on January 17, 2007. It was situated about 2.3 kilometers upstream of the Ham Luong Ferry currently in operation. It joined the National Road 60 on the side of Ben Tre City at the crossroad to the Chau Thanh - Binh Phu passage. The total length of the whole project is estimated at 8.2 kilometers, with the main bridge measured at 1,280 meters, total lengths of roads leading to the main bridge are 6,486 meters.

The total investment capiutal for the project is 786.973 VND. The bridge is built with reinforced  prestressed concrete.
