Finance and Banking
In implementing the Central Government's policy for banking reforms, Ben Tre's State Bank has carried out basic rule changes in banking activities.
Since 1990, The State Bank of Viet Nam, Ben Tre Branch, has been playing the role of a controlling institution that monitors the credit and monetary transactions inside the province. It has really been playing its best part as the core and hub to all financial institutions operating in the province to make the best out of the country's banking policy mandated by the State Bank Governor. It's also been operating as a consultative establishment to the province's leadership in policy making and economic development planning. Other operations include strengthening and directing practical banking activities, and building a pilot programme of credit funds for low-income people where possible. At the same time, provincial commercial banks have also been established.
