The second Coconut Festival would be between 15 and 21 January, 2010

The second Coconut Festival and the 10th SMEs Week would be taking place in 7 days, from January 15 to January 21, 2010, according to the Festival's organizers. The space area for hosting the Festival is assigned to the People's Committee Great Hall and the surrounding areas including the province's Museum and Hung Vuong Street running along the Ben Tre River in front of the Museum and the province's Hung Vuong Guest House.

Many companies seeking to invest in Ben Tre's tourism

Since to beginning of the year up to now, there has been 165,781 tourists, nearly 135,781 of which are foerign tourists. Because of the increase in the number of incoming tourists, many tourist trading enterprises and private services unit are strongly pushing up their investment in the sector.

Some tourist sites worth to visit in Ben Tre

Ben Tre has many rivers and canals. It also has the largest coconut area in Viet Nam. Its fruit areas distribute all over the land, but concentrate mostly in Cho Lach and Chau Thanh. Ben Tre has favourable conditions to develop green tourism, or eco-tourism, as it retains somewhat untrodden nature and clean ecology, green strips of coconut and fruit gardens.

There will be a VND100-billion Rong Vang (Golden Dragon) tourist resort in My Thanh An

VND100 billion is said to be the investment capital to construct the Rong Vang Eco-tourist Resort and Entertaiment Complex in My Thanh An Commune, Ben Tre Township. This is said to be one of the large tourist resorts in the Mekong Delta jointly invested and developed by 5 companies from Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong Province, and will operate in the form of a multi-partied consortium.

Chances and challenges for Ben Tre's tourism

Chances for Ben Tre's tourism development are appearing very clearly at the moment as grand projects of roads and bridges that may help overcome travelling problems are en train to be accelerated. The Ham Luong Bridge has been kicked start, and the well-known Rach Mieu Bridge is to be completed at the end of 2007. However, many challenges are also awaiting ahead for tourism in the Homeland of Coconut.

VND15 billion needed for Ben Tre's tourist infrastructural development

The People's Committee of Ben Tre province has submitted a document to Ministries of Planning and Investment (MPI) and Finance, and the Vietnamese Bureau of Tourism (BTV) to propose its plans for tourism development in 2006, and ask for financial support with a planned sum of VND15 billion. The statement is said to be part of the province's efforts to deploy and complete the province's projects to develop its tourist infrastructure to effectively exploit its huge tourist potentials.

Ben Tre: Thousands of Visitors Coming to "Vung Tau 2" on Doan Ngo Holiday

As a tradition, the Doan Ngo Holiday, which is held on the 5th of the Fifth Lunar month, is one of the main holidays of Vietnamese people, especially those of the Chinese origin. On this day, many religious as well as traditional worshipping rites are taken.
