60 cleft-palate children charitably operated

In days from December 22 to December 27, 2014, a volunteering group of nurses and doctors from the Japanese Cleft Palate Foundation (JCPF) led by Dr Nagato Natsume has come to Nguyen Dinh Chieu Hospital in Ben Tre Province to carry out a charitable cleft-palate surgery program on 60 selected children. The total cost for this year’s program is estimated at US$60,000.

Ben Tre Red Cross raising more than VND111 million to aid disaster victims in Myanmar and China

After news of natural disasters in Myanmar and China spread around the world, Ben Tre Red Cross, in responding to the call by the Vietnamese Committee of the Red Cross, sent appeal to local people across the province to raise money for relief aid to the natural disaster victims. On May 4, cyclone Nargis swept through Myanmar killing nearly 100,000. Then more than a week later, on May 12, an 8-Richter strong earthquake shook the Chinese Southwestern province of Sichuan killing 62,664 and injuring 247,683.

Spanish ADECOP to sponsor VND4-billion program for Ben Tre's children

A program of summer camp in Dalat and Nha Trang for Ben Tre's excellent school children of poor families will be organized by a Spanish humanitarian organization called ADECOP (Federaci de Asociaciones de Adopci Internacional).

Charity group of German businessmen funding heart treatment for children patients in Ben Tre

On May 15 and 16, 2008, a group of charity workers led by Ms Bui Thi Mai Lien from the SWHH - a German charity group formed by German businessmen - paid a visiting tour to the families and children patients of congenital heart disease in An Phu, An Hiep Communes (Ba Tri District) and My Thanh, Phong Nam Communes (Giong trom District).
